Student Reviews
I have been studying with Yanal for close to 3 months now and have enjoyed it immensely. Not only have my technical skills and fundamentals improved but I actually enjoy going to class! I have studied with previous teachers that made learning feel like a pain, they were way too intense, and it made me feel like practicing was a chore. I can't speak for his online lessons but in person has been great, his studio is very welcoming and parking is free which is always a plus in LA. I feel like the entire reason I wanted to get into music was to really tap into my emotionally creative side and Yanal has done a great job with that, encouraging artistic expression, which again I didn't get from the other instructors I tried.
Drumming has been my main hobby for most of my life, but I was finding myself at a standstill. A couple years ago I reached out to Yanal to see if he could help guide me with the things I didn't know that I didn't know. And boy was there a lot for me to learn. Since then, we reworked my fundamental techniques and have built up into more advanced territory. Yanal has opened doors to music I thought I'd never be able to play. I'm someone that usually needs more than a few attempts of explaining for me understand new ideas, but with Yanal's clear and passionate instruction, only a couple times does the trick! Lessons are always a highlight of my week, because Yanal keeps the learning environment fun, captivating, and even a little goofy to keep me on my toes!
